Loving history as I do, I am happily putting together lots of little factoids:
Tomorrow, September 8th is Richard the Lionhearted's birthday-he will be 957!
I am in the Vexin tonight. This was the disputed territory in Lion in Winter. Louis gave the Vexin and his daughter Alais to Henry II to marry to his son Richard. Rumor was that Henry slept with her instead.
The Merovingian dynasty I mentioned earlier is the same one from the DaVinci Code!
I shall need to see what other pieces I can put together.
